Taking Charge of Your Health
Good health is essential to our happiness in life. Often, we do not realize how important it is until we are threatened by its loss. Unfortunately, symptoms indicating a need to change our lifestyle often do not appear until some damage has been done. For these reasons we should strive to obtain or maintain the best health possible for ourselves.

For many, good health can be found in a balance between three factors:

  • Physical: Are you overweight? Do you exercise regularly? If so does your regime include both aerobic and strengthening exercises? Are your abdominal muscles strong enough to support your lower back? How is your posture? Do you know how to lift correctly? Are you keeping current with your prescribed course of chiropractic care as well as routine exams and screenings?

  • Chemical: How much caffeine do you really consume? Do you eat a balanced diet or do you live on fast food and vending machine fare? Do you smoke? Do you know if you get the vitamins you need for good health? How often do you use medications, both over-the-counter and prescription, and why?

  • Mental: Are you relaxed and in charge of the events in your life or do those events and people run you ragged? Do you consider yourself a pessimist or an optimist, and do others agree with your opinion of yourself?

Unfortunately, all of these factors can affect your health. They can also play a role in future spinal problems. Stress, excess weight, improper posture, and denying the body the nutrients it needs for proper rebuilding can be contributing factors to spinal weakness and subluxations.

In order for us to regain or maintain our health, we must control the factors that can affect it. The chart below gives you some positive habits that you should implement when taking charge of your health. Balancing physical, mental, and chemical factors can help you maintain or increase your health.

As always, our purpose is to help you achieve the health that you deserve. This web site is presented to you as a way to provide you with the information you need to make healthy choices in life.
